MRS. S.H. HOADLEY PASSED AWAY AT NOON
Well Known Lady was a Pioneer of This Section
After a year and three months suffering from paralysis Mrs. S.H. Hoadley peacefully and painlessly closed her eyes to all suffering at 12:45 o'clock this afternoon.
Susan Henrietta Ashcraft was born in Preston, N.Y., July 24, 1845. She was one of the pioneers of this part of the country, coming here at the age of six years with her parents, Ebenezer and Henrietta Ashcraft. She was of America's old pioneer stock also being of colonial and revolutionary descent on both sides of her family. Ashcraft street in New London, Conn. was named for a great grandfather and his son, who lived on that street and who both served with distinction in the Revolutionary war.
She was married at Buchanan, Mich. on Thanksgiving day, 1862, to Jared Hoadley.
Four children were born of this union, Willard E. Hoadley of Niles township, Mrs. James H. Gray of Vinton, Iowa, Martha Clark who died at the age of four years and Mrs. Louise Hoadley Gillette of this place, with whom she made her home.
The funeral will be hold Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the home.

The funeral services for Mrs. Susan Hoadley were held this morning from the home of Mrs.Louise Hoadley Gillette. Chas. Kitterer, first reader for the Christian Science church, conducted the services. Miss Whetstone sang. Interment occurred at Silver Brook cemetery.
