OBITUARY
Charles Edgerle, the eldest son of Loel and Harriett Edgerle, was born May 14, 1860 in Hannibal, Franklin county, N.Y. and died June 21, 1915, aged 75 years, one month and six days.
He died in Kalamazoo, Mich., and was brought to his son's home in Niles June 22 by his nephew, H.A. Barrett. He was united in marriage to Miss Eliza Grimes in 1875 and to this union three children were born, two sons and one daughter, Otto E. and Edward, residing in Niles, the daughter dying in infancy.
He leaves the widow, two sons and one brother, Harrison in Kansas, and many other sorrowing relatives and friends to mourn his loss.
Those from out of town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Maynard, of Union City, Mich.; Mrs. Ida Monroe and son Wesley and Mrs. Mary Ornsby of Colon, Mich.; Mrs. W.M. Hatton of Lowell, Ind., and Mrs. M. Stallcop and Miss Sarah Grimes of Momence, Ill.
He was a man that was well known in Indiana and Illinois and a man who had a large circle of friends. He will be greatly missed and it is regretted that a man of so good moral habits and one strictly temperate all through life and honest in his dealings with his fellow men should be taken.
(Note: Date of Birth in obituary is not consistent with age; death certificate gives only year of birth as 1838 but also states age to be 72 years)
