Ray Hurlbutt
April 16, 1895-April 14, 1964
Ray Hurlbutt, 68, of 1311 Ferry St., was pronounced dead on arrival at 7:55 a.m. today. He had been in ill health two years.
Mr. Hurlbutt, who retired two years ago from service as a tool and die maker with Bendix Corp., South Bend, was born April 16, 1895, in Buchanan. He lived most of his lifetime here.
Surviving are his widow, Freda, three sons, Ray Jr., Melvin and Burton, all of Niles and a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Hatch, Colfax, Ill., and 10 grandchildren.
He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the First Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Pifer Funeral Home. Dr. Maurice McKean, pastor of his church, will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends are being received at the funeral home.
