MRS. LAURA WEBBER, PIONEER, DIED TODAY
One of Niles' pioneer residents, Mrs. Laura A. Webber, passed peacefully away at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the home of her son, William, 115 State street.
Deceased was 87 years of age. Although she had been in ill health for some time she had only been confined to her bed since last Sunday. Old age is attributed as the cause of her demise.
Mrs. Webber came to this locality . .was three years of age. The family settled at Bertrand where she was married to John J. Webber at the age of 15.
Coming to Niles she and her husband took up their residence at State and Emmons streets, where she resided continuously since Mr. Webber died in 1889.
Left to mourn her loss are four sons and one daughter, Nelson F. of Boyne Lake, Alberta, Canada, and Emmett, Mrs. Clara Marrs, John and William, of Niles. There is also a sister, Mrs. Eliza Wilcox, 509 Champlain street, this city.
Funeral announcement will be made tomorrow.
