The Friends of Silverbrook Cemetery meet the third Thursday each month at 7 p.m. at the Niles Law Enforcement Center, located at Main St and Silverbrook Ave.
In addition to discussing progress made with our restoration and education projects, we feature a Guest Speaker. Past speakers have given talks about the history of Niles, gravestone restoration, and biographies of leading citizens. Many of our members also have interests in genealogy and local history. Members, nonmembers, and guests are always welcome to attend at no cost.
The next monthly meeting of the Friends of Silverbrook Cemetery will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 17th at the Law Enforcement Complex at 1600 Silverbrook Ave. in Niles.
De Beaumont, Regent of the Rebecca Dewey Chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) will be the speaker. DAR is the largest women's service organization in the United States and supports a wide variety of educational, historical, and patriotic projects. She will be talking about the work of the DAR both nationally and locally, about membership criteria, and about the assistance available from DAR and its members in family research for potential members.
The meeting is open to the public and there is never a charge to attend one of the meetings of the Friends of Silverbrook.
The Friends of Silverbrook Cemetery will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 17th at the Law Enforcement Complex at 1600 Silverbrook Ave. in Niles.
Bob and Nancy Cooley of The Berrien County Genealogical Society will be the guest speakers. The topic will be "Indexing a Cemetery" and they will answer any questions that you may have.

The Friends of Silverbrook will hold an Open House on Thursday, Jan 20th from 6-8 pm at the law Enforcement Complex, 1600 Silverbrook Ave. in Niles.
Through out the year, the group works to restore the monuments and the stories of our local history.
Our Guests will be Jeanne Watson (DDA) and Nancy Studebaker (NDL) to discuss the publication of a series of books about Niles and its history with a collection of photographs.
If you are interested in sharing your old photographs of Niles, we invite you to bring them for consideration for this project.
