Monthly Meetings

The Friends of Silverbrook Cemetery meet the third Thursday each month at 7 p.m. at the Niles Law Enforcement Center, located at Main St and Silverbrook Ave.

In addition to discussing progress made with our restoration and education projects, we feature a Guest Speaker. Past speakers have given talks about the history of Niles, gravestone restoration, and biographies of leading citizens. Many of our members also have interests in genealogy and local history. Members, nonmembers, and guests are always welcome to attend at no cost.

August 2020 Monthly Meeting

Due to coronovirus precautions, we will not be meeting at the Law Enforcement complex. However, we will meet at the cemetery keeping at least six feet way from each other.

We will meet in front of the Abbey near the circle of flags and the cannon at 7 p.m. on Thursday August 20th. Be sure to bring your own lawn chairs as we plan to talk for an hour. There are no bathroom facilities.

It will be nice to see everyone and get caught up.

If you cannot attend in person, email webmaster@friendsofsilverbrook.org and we will send you the link to a Zoom conference call. You can at least chat with us by speakerphone.

Due to heavy rains this morning, we've decided to have a meeting by Zoom instead of meeting at the cemetery.

The May 2020 Monthly Meeting for the Friends of Silverbrook Cemetery will not take place due the coronavirus pandemic.

However, Silverbrook Cemetery is open. There is plenty of space to wander around and get some exercise!

The April 2020 Monthly Meeting for the Friends of Silverbrook Cemetery will not take place due the coronavirus pandemic.

However, Silverbrook Cemetery is open. We encourage everyone visiting the cemetery to follow state and federal guidelines regarding social distancing and other measures to stay safe. As the weather gets nicer, enjoy the fresh air. But wave to each other at a distance!
