Thomas S. Deniston, 65, a former Niles resident, died Sunday at the Masonic home in Adrian after a three-year illness.

He was born in Niles on Nov. 11, 1886. When a young man he moved to Adrian where he worked as a tool and die maker and later operated his own shop.

Surviving are a son, Thomas, Jr., of Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Bessie McCune, of Chicago.

Masonic rites will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the graveside in Silverbrook cemetery here.

Sarah A. Deniston (Redding)
1803-March 30, 1884

Mrs. Thomas Deniston died at her home in this city, on Sunday last, aged 80 years and 4 months. She was born in Virginia, in 1803 and came to Niles in 1830, and has lived in the house where she died ever since. She had six children, four daughters and two sons, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren--and all rise up and call her blessed. She was one of eleven children, all of whom have departed hence, except Joseph Deniston [sic], who resides at the old homestead on Front street.

Note: In 1880 Census, Joseph Redding, brother-in-law, age 68, was residing in the household of Thomas and Sarah Deniston.

John R. Hill

John R. Hill, five-year-old son of Mr.and Mrs. Richard Hill, of rural route three, died at 11 p.m. Thursday in Coldwater. He was born in Niles on Jan. 7, 1947.

Surviving in addition to his parents are three sisters, Barbara, Nancy and Cynthia, all at home.

Committal services were held at 2:30 p.m. today in Silverbrook cemetery with the Rev. T.M. Greenhoe, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating.

Cliffee Boose
Aug. 1, 1868-April 30, 1952

Mrs. Cliffee Boose, of 1270 South Eleventh street, died at 10:45 a.m. today in her home. She had been ill since January.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lena Johnson and Mrs. George May, of Niles, and Mrs. Dorothy Monte, of Benton Harbor; three sons, Fred and Charles , of Niles,and Floyd Boose, of Dowagiac; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Sparks, of Lafayette, Ind.

Mrs. Boose was born on Aug. 1, 1868, in Burnettsville, Ind., and came here from Logansport, Ind., in 1922.

Friends may call at the Pifer funeral home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, by the Rev. Ray L. McCoy, pastor of the First Baptist church.  Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

George A. Burnham
Oct. 28, 1893-April 29, 1952

George A. Burnham, 2117 South Thirteenth street road, died at 12:05 a.m. today at the Berrien county hospital, Berrien Center.  He had been ill a short time.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Burnham, of Dowagiac; his wife, Ida; six sisters, Mrs. Harry Symons, of San Antonio, Tex., Mrs. Frank Avery. of Newaygo, Mich., Mrs. Lester Dandurand and Mrs. Harvey Farrell, of Dowagiac, and Mrs. Bryan Caraway and Mrs. Vernon Brown, of Niles, and one brother, Charles C. Burnham, of Niles.

Burnham was born Oct. 28, 1893, in Washington, Ia., and came here from Chicago 15 years ago. He was a watchman at the Niles outdoor theater.

Friends may call at the Pifer funeral home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. John G. Carlton, rector of Trinity Episcopal church. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Dr. George I. Vetter
March 29, 1888-April 27, 1952

Dr. George I. Vetter, 64, a lifelong resident of Niles and a dentist here for 25 years, died at noon Sunday in Pawating hospital where he was admitted at 9:35 a.m. that morning.  He had been ill for 18 years.

Private funeral services will be held from the Kiger funeral home Tuesday at 3 p.m., with the Rev. T.M. Greenhoe, pastor of the first Presbyterian church, officiating.  Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Survivors are: his mother, Mrs. Fred Vetter, of Niles; his wife, Kathryn, also of Niles; three sons, Thomas of Rochester, N.Y., John of Galesburg, and Alan at home; a sister, Mrs. Iva Weaver, of Niles; . .[illegible] . .

Dr. Vetter was born in Niles on March 29, 1888.  He married Kath-

. . .[illegible] . .. 12, 1922. A graduate of the Niles . . [illegible] . .the University of Michigan in 1910, Dr. Vetter carried on a dental practice until illness forced him to retire in 1934.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, the Masonic lodge and the Psi Omega Dental fraternity.

The family asked that flower be omitted.
