Mrs. Nellie Zartman Dies in Benton Harbor

Mrs. Nellie Blanch Zartman, 63, former Niles resident died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mrytle[sic] Dumbuald, Benton Harbor, at 2:55 o'clock Friday afternoon. The deceased was born September 7, 1870 in Butler, Ind.  She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Oswalt Zartman, Benton Harbor; one brother, Frank Sterns, Benton Harbor; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Buck, Mishawaka, Ind., and Mrs. Dumbuald, also eight grandchildren.

The body was brought to the Price and Kiger funeral home where friends may call until time for the funeral.  Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the funeral home with the Rev. A.R. Kuehn, pastor of the First Evangelical church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

ZARTMAN RITES HELD

Funeral rites for Mrs. Nellie Blanch Zartman, former Niles resident, who died at the home of her daughter in Benton Harbor Friday morning, were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Price and Kiger funeral home with the Rev. A.R. Kuehn, pastor of the First Evangelical church, officiating.  Burial was held in Silverbrook cemetery.

NILES YOUTH KILLED BY LIGHTNING BOLT

Leonard Green Struck Wile Fishing at Mottville; Drought is Ended.

Leonard George Green, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Green, 417 North Fourteenth street, was instantly killed about 10 o'clock this morning at Mottville, Mich., when he was struck by a bolt of lightning.

The youth was on a fishing trip with Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Kromer, also of Niles, on the St. Joseph

GREEN RITES INCOMPLETE

Funeral services for Leonard George Green, 15, who was accidentally killed abut 10 o'clock this morning when he was struck by a bolt of lightning while fishing in the St. Joseph river near Mottville, Mich., are incomplete.

Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Green, 417 North Fourteenth street, he is survived by two brothers, Harvey Wesley and David, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Elinore Hoskins, Niles, and Theda and Mable Green, at home.

Funeral services for Leonard George Green, 15, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Green, 417 North Fourteenth street, who was accidentally killed when struck by a bolt of lightning while fishing on the St. Joseph river near Mottville, Mich., Wednesday morning, will be held at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning at the Rutherford funeral home. Interment will be at Silverbrook cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Green residence until 8 o'clock Saturday morning.

Robert Kromer, Dale Wise, Junior Ramsby, Bert Davis, Gerald Leet and Charles Adams acted as pallbearers.

ARTHUR G. HENIGAN DIES

Arthur G. Henagin, 48, died early this morning at his home, 23 North Lincoln avenue. He had been in ill health for nearly a year. The body was taken to the Price and Kiger funeral home where arrangements for the funeral services will be made. He leaves his widow, Monterey, a son, Leonard, Muskegon, and two daughters, also three stepsons, Arthur, Camp Custer, Lewis and John, Niles, one brother, Grand Rapids, a sister, Mrs. Kate Johnson, Grand Rapids, and four grandchildren.

HENIGAN RITES SUNDAY

Funeral services for Arthur G. Henigan, 48, who died at his home, 23 North Lincoln avenue early Friday morning, will be held at the Price & Kiger funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. C.C. Willett of the Baptist association will officiate and burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery. The body will be at the home on Lincoln avenue until noon Sunday where friends of the family are invited to call.

BRING BODY HERE

Mrs. Henry Jones, 65, died at her home in Chicago at 11:30 o'clock Saturday night.  She was well known in Niles, having visited here on several occasions and was a sister of the late Mrs. Jacob Badger of Niles.  The deceased is survived by her husband.

The body was brought to Niles and funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Troost and Turner funeral home with the Rev. Harry Nicholson, pastor of the Trinity Episcopal church, officiating.  Interment will be at Silverbrook cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Jones, 65, Chicago, and sister of the late Mrs. Jacob Badger, of Niles, were held at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Troost and Turner funeral home with the Rev. OLD RESIDENT DIES

M.S. Kirk, 315 South Third street, a resident of Niles for 19 years, died this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in Pawating hospital. He was 70 years old. Death was indirectly due to a fall down stairs early Thursday morning. The fall resulted in a broken rib and punctured lung, and pneumonia developed. He leaves his widow, Carrie, and one son, Condon, a postoffice employe, who lives at home.  Several years ago Mr. Kirk operated a gas station on US-31, but failing health in recent years compelled him to retire. The body was taken to the Price & Kiger funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Price & Kiger Funeral home, with the Rev. G.W. Simon of the Presbyterian church officiating.

Several out-of-town relatives and friends of the Kirk family attended the services for M.S. Kirk at Price & Kiger's funeral home Saturday.  Among these were Mr. and Mrs. James R. Roderick and two daughters, Jane and Ruth, all of Morocco, Ind.; Mrs. Earl MacDonald, Galveston, Ind., a niece of Mrs. Kirk; J.W. Brown, Lydick, Ind., brother of Mrs. Kirk and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin, South Bend, and Mr. Martin's mother of Morocco, Ind.

Mrs. Krassow Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. Coral May Krassow, 45, 110 South State street, died at her home at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon after a two years' illness with internal cancer.

The deceased was born Aug. 22, 1889 in Royalton township, Berrien county, and came to Niles 11 years ago from Three Oaks. On Nov. 1, 1919, she was married in Niles to Albert Krassow.

Besides her husband she is survived by three children, Albert, Lois and Richard, all at home; father, James Lewis Richardson, Niles; five sisters, Mrs. Frank Reading, Gary, Ind.; Mrs. Otis Durflinger, Watervliet; Mrs. A.N. Cochrane, Mrs. George Worm, and Mrs. John Nevell, all of Niles; two brothers Charles Richardson, Niles, and Arden Richardson, Buchanan.

Funeral services will be held at the Rutherford funeral home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Robert E. Meader, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating.  Interment will be at Silverbrook cemetery.  Friends may view the body at the residence until time for the funeral.
