A Call for those Killed or Missing in Action

Buried here in Silverbrook Cemetery are service men and women from all wars.  Does your family legend say that you had a great-great grandfather who was a war veteran?  The Friends of Silverbrook Cemetery, the city of Niles and the Rebecca Dewey Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) are working together to record the stories from the families of those men and women.  We would like to hear from you!  Email us at research@friendsofsilvberbrook.org.  Thank you!

Membership Form 2023

April 1, 2023

Each spring we mail our annual membership letter and our loyal group of Friends of Silverbrook members always respond. Thank you for 16 years of support! Our nonprofit group is able to fund our website which continues to be updated and improved with the city’s assistance. Your donations support the work we do to honor Veterans with flag purchases for individual graves and for the Service Flags, which fly in front of the Veteran section and the Abbey. We continue to upgrade signage so it is easier for family members to find graves of loved ones and we especially like to work with the Niles History Center staff, who coordinate our fall walking tour each year. They feature a number of interesting former citizens who have helped define our city’s history.

We are proud to be able to continue this effort and your generous contributions make it possible. Please know we appreciate every donor, volunteer, and city staff member who help contribute to these projects.

Once again, thank you for your donation, and more importantly, your interest.

Sincerely,

Ginny Tyler
Membership Chairman
