Lourdes S. Julian, 76, of Niles, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, of Niles.

Lourdes Julian, 76, of Niles, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
Lourdes was born on a beautiful day in December in her home country of the Philippines. At a young age she found the love of her life, Wayne, who was a member of the United States Marine Corps. at the time. Leaving her home country and finding a new life for herself was something that stayed with her for the entirety of her life. She found happiness in her new home and eventually started a family of her own. She took pride in raising three children, Mark, Sheila, and Katina, all who eventually gave her grandchildren. Over time her family grew until the tragic loss of her dear husband, Wayne, who passed away in 2017. Throughout her life Lourdes was known for a handful of things: being a grandmother, her love for her family, gardening, canning, her unmatched mahjong skills, and a special interest in flowers, especially orchids. She was known to have a great sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed her life and the people in it. Lourdes followed a catholic faith and was known to attend St. Mary’s catholic church of Niles. Her faith brought her a lot of comfort towards the end of life and was able to find peace because of it. The end of her life was spent surrounded with those she cherished the most, her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one grandchild, Daniel Gordon.
Lourdes is survived by her three children; Mark, Sheila, and Katina; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and close friends.
The family of Mrs. Julian will be celebrating her life privately at a later date.
