Glen Antisdel Dies at Kalamazoo Today

Glen Edward Antisdel, 45, 285 Pokagon street, died at 8:30 o'clock this morning at St. Edward's hospital, Kalamazoo, after an illness of several months. 

The deceased was born in Cass county, Oct. 16, 1889.  Recently, the family has been living at the home of . . [illegible]. .Arthur Bachman.

Surviving besides the widow, Adah, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Antisdel, Dowagiac; a sister, Mrs. William Holbrook, Salem, Ore., and three brothers, Wallace Antisdel, Dowagiac, Clyde Antisdel, South Bend, and Richard Antisdel, Cassopolis. A daughter preceded the deceased in death in 1929.

Interment will be in Silverbrook but funeral arrangements are incomplete.

ANTISDEL RITES MONDAY

Funeral services for Glen Edward Antisdel, who died Friday morning at St. Edward's hospital, Kalamazoo, will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Rutherford funeral home with the  Rev. Theo Eisen, pastor of the St. John's Evangelical church, officiating.  Friends may call at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bachman, 234 Pokagon street,  until time for the services.  Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Leg Amputation is Fatal to Cousins

Elmer Cousins, 47, residing three miles east of Niles on M-60, died at 2 o'clock this morning at Pawating hospital following an amputation of his leg as the result of blood poison.

Mr. Cousins was born April 27, 1887, at Spencer, O., and moved to Niles 21 years ago.  For the past several years he has operated a filling station on M-60.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Cousins; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph DeMiller, Elkhart, Esther and Joy, Niles; a son, Lee, also of Niles; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Cousins, Grafton; two sisters, Mrs. V. Cornish, and Mrs. Hazen Tite, both of Grafton, five brothers, Edward, Pasadena, Cal., Albert, Akron, O., Harvey, Columbus, O., and Frank and Alfred of Grafton.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

TO HOLD COUSIN'S RITES

Funeral services for Elmer Cousins, who died at 2 o'clock Tuesday morning, will be held at the Price and Kiger funeral home at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Leon Manning, Three Oaks, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating.

Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery. Friends of the deceased may view the body at the funeral home before the services.

COUSIN'S RITES HELD

Rev. Leon Manning, pastor of the Methodist church in Three Oaks, officiated this afternoon at the funeral services of Elmer Cousins, who died early Tuesday morning.  The services were held at the Price and Kiger funeral  home and burial was made in Silverbrook cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Gorton, 75, Dies After Operation

Mrs. Anna Rosewarne Gorton, 75, wife of Silas Gorton, 739 Hickory street, died in Pawating hospital at 11:30 o'clock Sunday night, following an operation performed last Tuesday.

Mrs. Gorton was a lifelong resident of Niles and vicinity. She was born on a farm 12 miles east of Niles. Many years ago she taught school in Niles. Surviving besides the bereaved husband are two brothers and two sisters, Sidney Rosewarne, Joliet, Ill.; Henry Rosewarne, Niles; Mrs. Georgia Bither, 65 South Third street, Niles, and Mrs. Manny Lovell, Chicago.

Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Price and Kiger funeral chapel on North Fourth street. The Rev. Harry Nicholson, Episcopal rector, will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

The body may be viewed by friends at the Price and Kiger funeral chapel until the hour of the funeral.

GORTON RITES HELD

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Rosewarne Gorton, who died in Pawating hospital Sunday night, were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Price and Kiger funeral home with the  Rev. H.L. Nicholson, pastor of the Episcopal church officiating.  Burial was in Silverbrook cemetery.

FORMER RESIDENT DIES

Albert Knox Hinderer, 60, former resident of Niles, died in Seattle, Wash,., from heart failure following on operation resulting from an injury received while on duty as an employe of the Seattle surface lines.

He was born in Niles Dec 28, 1874, and resided here until 1917 when  he went west.

Surviving are three sisters, Misses Emma and Bertha Hinderer, Chicago; Mrs. George Earl, Niles; and a niece,Mrs. Roy bender, Chicago. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Hinderer Funeral Is Held at Silverbrook

The body of Albert K. Hinderer, who died in Seattle, Wash., a week ago, arrived in Niles at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon and was taken immediately to Silverbrook cemetery where services were held at the grave.

Pallbearers were Harry Fox, C.S. Quimby, Joseph Troost, F.W. Richter, Seeley Deam and W.S. Wright.  Three sisters are the only survivors of the family line. They are Mrs. George W. Earl, Niles; Miss Emma Hinderer and Miss Bertha Hinderer, both teachers in the Chicago schools.

Relatives from out of town were a niece, Mrs. Ruth Hinderer Bruder, Chicago; and cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beckler, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Trowbridge, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hans, and John Foote, all of South Bend; and Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Brown, Chicago.

Mrs. May Ann Kasch Dies at home Today

Mrs. Mary Anna Kasch, 73, 323 North Tenth street, died at 11:30 this morning at her home.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Kasch; a son, George Harmison, Niles; a sister, Mrs. Jane Galloway, Logansport, Ind., and two brothers, Thomas and Daniel Mooney, Logansport.

The body was removed to the Rutherford funeral home where funeral arrangements are incomplete.

KASCH RITES HELD

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Kasch, who died at her home yesterday morning, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Rutherford funeral home. Rev. Meader of the Methodist church will officiate and burial will be made in Silverbrook cemetery.

Thomas Kay, 78, Dies at Home Here Today

Thomas Kay, 78, 926 North Fifth street, a resident of Niles for 20 years, died at 4 o'clock this morning at his home after an illness of five weeks.

He was born Dec. 1, 1856 at Brighton, Ont.

Surviving are his widow, Maude; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Kuebbeler, Toledo, O.; four sons, James Kay, Niles, John Kay, Walkertown, Ind., and George Kay, Chicago; two sisters, Miss Ellen Kay and Miss Maggie Baughton, Branford, Ont.;  and five brothers, John Kay, Harrisburg, Ont., Archie and David Kay, Ann Arbor, Andrew Kay, St. Louis, Mo., and James Kay, Rockford, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Troost and Turner funeral home with the Rev. G.W. Simon, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating. Interment will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

The body was to be taken to the home at 4 o'clock this afternoon where it will remain until time for the  services Thursday afternoon.
