Mrs. Burroughs, 50 Dies Tuesday

 

Mrs. Eva E. Burroughs, 50, mother of Pvt. Eldon F. Burroughs who is recovering in an Army hospital in England from wounds suffered in Germany, Dec. 24, died Tuesday at 11:25 a.m. in her home on State Line road. She had been ill several months.

She was born in Quincy, Ill., April 5, 1894, and was married to Robert Burroughs in Colorado Springs, Colo. on April 15, 1915.  They moved to the State Line road from South Bend in 1923.

Surviving are her husband; the son; a daughter, Fay Arden Burroughs, at home; and five brothers, Bert and Samuel J. Fredericks, Quincy, Ill.; William G. Fredericks, Detroit; Benjamin Fredericks, Sedalia, Mo., and Carl Fredericks, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Friends may call at the Rutherford funeral home. Services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. E.L. Blener, pastor of the Church of God of South Bend of which she was a member. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

BURROUGHS RITES

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Burroughs, 50 of State Line road, who died in her home Tuesday, will be conducted in the  Rutherford funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. E.L. Bleiler. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.  Pallbearers are Norman Kirk, Robie Sailers, Ray Romine, H.C. Dennison, Cecil Bottorss and Clifford Lawhead.
