Mrs. Melissa M. Elliott, 85, of 1128 Silverbrook Ave., died at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday in Pawating Hospital, where she had been a patient since March 19.
Mrs. Elliott was born Feb. 18, 1879, in Indiana. She came to Niles 60 years ago from Michigan City. Her husband, Joseph H. died in 1962.
Survivors include two sons, Gordon A. Bachman, Palm Desert, Calif., and Charles Elliott, Niles; a daughter, Mrs. Arlene Brittan, also of Niles; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Brooks, LaPorte, Ind., and Mrs. Joy Brewer, New Carlisle, Ind.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Pifer Funeral Home. Dr. Maurice McKean, pastor of her church, will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends are being received at the funeral home.
