Services for Marie Dorothy Sands, 78, 15738 Madron Lake Road, Buchanan, are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Niles by the Rev. Leo E. Kostizen of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.
Sands died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Pawating Hospital in Niles following an extended illness.
She was a member of St. paul's Lutheran Church and the Ladies' Aid Society of the Church. She retired from Montgomery Ward and Co. in 1972.
Sands was born Dec. 22, 1911, in LaPorte County, Ind. She lived in the Buchanan/Niles area all her life.
On Feb. 26, 1940, she married Herbert L. Sands in Marshall County, Ind., who preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1950.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Anseth of Niles, Caroline Flanagan of Buchanan, Judith Mitchell of Niles, Joan Gobble of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Herbert Sands Jr. of Niles; 21 grandchildren; and, five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
