Herman F. Schrumpf, 75, 79 Desaix St., died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday at his home following an illness of three years.

Mr. Schrumpf, a retired foreman of Tyler Refrigeration Corp., was born Nov. 13, 1884, in Niles and had lived in this community his entire life. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ (Evangelical and Reformed), the Men's Brotherhood of the church, the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, Modern Woodmen of America and the Daughters of America.

Surviving are his widow, Addie; four daughters, Mrs. John Horner and Mrs. Ray Kirk, both of Niles; Mrs [illegible] Kirk, Dayton, Mich; and Mrs. Carl Rossow, Buchanan; two sons, George Schrumpf, Niles, and Kenneth Bothwell, Niles; 14 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's United Church of Christ with the pastor, the Rev. Herbert Meussling, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home until noon Saturday.

Members of the Daughters of America will meet at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home to conduct memorial services.  Members also have been asked to meet Saturday afternoon at the church to attend funeral services.
