Mrs. Seifert, 73, Dies After Crash in South Bend

 

Mrs. Kathrina Seifert, 73, who died Tuesday in her home in South Bend of injuries suffered Dec. 28 when struck by an automobile in South Bend, was a former resident of Niles.

She was a sister of the late John Bauman and the late Mrs. Charles Pfeil.  Mrs. Seifert was born in Germany, Sept. 23, 1866, but spent most of her early girlhood in Niles. She is survived by two step-children, Mrs. Hattie Gilliland, Detroit, and Mrs. Mayme Jennings, Marion, O.; two sisters, Mrs. Rena Fritz, Detroit, and Mrs. Laura Motz, in Canada, and a brother, Henry Bauman, also in Canada.

Friends may call at the home, 513 South Bend avenue, tonight. Services will be conducted Friday at 1 o'clock in the L.H. Orvis chapel by the Rev. Waldemar Goffeney, pastor of Eton Evangelical and Reformed church. The body will be brought here to Silverbrook cemetery for burial. Her husband, Andrew S. Seifert, died Dec. 4, 1939.
