Herman F. Reum, 89, of the Paul Stephan Nursing Home and formerly of 1519 N. 5th St., Niles, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, at the nursing home after a long illness.
He was born October 9, 1892 in Niles and had lived his entire lifetime in Niles.
He was a World War I Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 26. He was a retired employee of the New York Central Rail Road.
Surviving are: a brother, Clyde Reum of Espanola, New Mexico; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Jaroch, Mrs. Lydia Yonker and Mrs. Honna Scholl, all of Niles.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Arnold O. Schaap of Edwardsburg at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
