Joseph Charles Knebl, 69, of 135 Forest St., Niles, died at 11:10 p.m. Monday at Pawating Hosepital after a short illness.
He had retired in 1968 from the U.S. Post Office at Chicago.
Mr. Knebl was born on July 21, 1912 in Chicago and had lived here for the past six years, coming from San Diego.
He married Irene Auxier on June 17, 1934 in Chicago. his wife survives.
Also surviving are a son, Thomas E. Knebl of San Bernadino, Ca.; a daughter, Mrs. Judith Elaine Larson of Des Plaines, Ill. ; a sister, Mrs. Jeri Wesenberg of Sarasota, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at the Pifer-Smith Funeral Home in Niles. Rev. Harold Asire of the Emmanuel Baptist Bible Church will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbook Cemetery.
